Meet Falone MATY, AFREIN’s spotlight for December 2019.

This December 2019, Afro Real Initiative (AFREIN) spotlights Falone MATY from Cameroon: a resourceful, dynamic and multi-talented media personality, musical artiste and civic leader par excellence.

Be inspired to aspire, as you go through this phenomenal profile.

Who is Falone Maty?

‘‘I am MATSIFONG TAMETIA Falone NIDA by birth, aged 30, and I hail from the Bamboutos Division, in the West Region of Cameroon. I am the 3rd girl in a family of 4 children.’’

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in History of International Relations at the University of Yaoundé I. I am [also] a [musical] artiste, actress, TV presenter, top-level picture model, President of ‘Amicale des Femmes’ (ALBIBELLES)”, Falone explained.  ALBIBELLES is a Civil Society Organization of female albinos (with a mission to empower albino women).

Her soft spot for singing urged her in 2007 to join the choral group of ASMODISA (‘‘Association Mondiale pour la Défense des Intérêts et la Solidarité des Albinos’’, that is, the World Association for the Defense of the Interests and Solidarity of Albinos). She was later invited in 2011 to sing in cabarets and other social joints. The following year, she featured as a backup singer in the tracks of many artists like Adeline Mbenkum, Mabel Zang, Junior Eyango, and many others. These different experiences motivated her to release a maxi-single track in 2015.

“Among others, I work in the field of communication and cinema. In 2014, I joined the presentation team of the programme, Comptoir D’Afric on Canal 2 International.

In 2019, I joined the team of actors from the Miel Amer series, [which was] broadcast on Canal 2 International, Wouri TV, and other channels”, Falone affirmed.
